Abstract :
Security is the guarantee to fully exploit the advantages of satellite communication networks. In this paper, the techniques of physical layer security are considered in multi-beam satellite networks. Physical layer security may be an effective way to improve the capability of anti-intercepting and anti-detecting of the satellite communication system. Necessary applications of physical layer security for satellite communication are analyzed. A strategy of physical layer security transmission for the downlink of multi-beam satellite networks is discussed with beam-forming and power control. Furthermore, the channel model and signal model are discussed, respectively. A set of performance indexes for the evaluation of the downlink in multi-beam satellite networks are investigated. Some of the indexes are analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively as examples.
