Developing effective risk assessment criteria in regulated environments

In highly regulated industries (such as the manufacturing of medical devices) establishing and operating a risk management process for potentially hazardous products is well prescribed and described. However, there is precious little guidance on the choice of risk acceptance criteria which can lead to loss of product quality and potential harm to life or health.
