Abstract :
This paper is dedicated to the process of creating an information system built on the basis of the synthesis of long-term field studies and available in literature data about ground beetles of North. Research issue aims to identify adaptations of ground beetles for the life in the north of the Russian Plain. These very ground beetles are striking indicator of change of the environmental situation in the circumpolar region. The research briefly presents an overview of the literature in the study history and the current state of various aspects knowledge of ground beetles life in the circumpolar and polar regions. Arkhangelsk region was selected for the field studies as an object: 5 geographical points in 4 climatic zones in the north of the Russian Plain. Based on the analysis of the data domain and methodology of the study authors built an information system for the ground beetles studying.
