Abstract :
In this paper an adaptive ACs number adjusting algorithm for the EDCA scheme is proposed. By introducing a collecting data buffer and switching mechanism for AC queues we show that the total performance of the wireless network can be enhanced especially under the highly loaded network conditions. The simulation results demonstrate that our proposed adaptive ACs number adjusting algorithm for the EDCA scheme outperforms significantly the 802.11 specification under the tough network conditions (large network size and high network load).
