Abstract
The conductivity of polyether ether ketone films of 75 μm thickness has been investigated over a wide range of frequencies and electric fields in the temperature range 40°–140°C. The volume conductivity of PEEK is >1014 Ωm at temperature < 80°C and its dielectric loss factor, ε”, < 0.01 in the frequency range 100 Hz to 100 KHz up to 140°C. It is suggested that this material could be very useful for insulation purposes for r.f. cables and connectors to be used at high temperatures.
