Abstract
Samples with stable non-compensated charge (polarization) in the volume, i.e. electrets, can be obtained by various methods. In every case characteristics of the electret state (type of charge, thermal stability, charging conditions) give much information about the properties of dielectrics and their changes under outer conditions. For radioelectrets, i.e. dielectrics, charged by irradiation, parameters of the volume field, charge, polarization are connected with basic properties and spectrum of radiation defects. That is why the use of the electret state is rather effective when radiation effects on dielectrics are under study.
