Abstract :
Poly vinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) and Barium Titanate were mixed with different weight fractions and the Infrared Spectra of PVDF (pure) and various proportions of composite (PVDF and Barium Titanate) were studied. The absorption peak amplitudes corresponding to α form of PVDF have been significantly reduced, absorption peak amplitudes corresponding to β form of PVDF have been slightly affected and the absorption peak amplitudes corresponding to γ form of PVDF have been considerably increased. This composite material is expected to enhance the Pyro-electricity of PVDF by becoming polar in nature.
