  • Abstract
    This paper compares various techniques for poling PVF2 Him for piezoelectric and pyroelectric applications. Criteria for the choice of a technique include high piezo and pyro activities of the resulting film, low failure rate due to electrical breakdown during poling, and long-term stability of activities. The techniques discussed include field poling at room and elevated temperatures, and corona discharge under various conditions. The effects of various film pretreatments and film electrode configurations on the poling process will also be presented.
