Abstract :
On the base of the method that had been performed before by an inventor´s certificate it was determined the time and the velocity of cathode plasma movement (cathode flame) when the gap between cathode-anode varies from 4 to 14 mm at breakdown in vacuum diode at nanosecond time interval. It was shown that the basic delay time of breakdown is defined by the time when cathode plasma is flying through the cathode - anode vacuum gap. Uncondensed, made of non - corrosive steel (semi-sphere) and copper (plane surface) cathodes were used. The anode was made of alumina and copper plates.
