Abstract
The popularity and demand of various video applications which includes video conferencing, video telephony and streaming video etc. is growing day by day. The technological advancement has presented numerous devices to us which varies in capabilities and resolution in a wide range. These reasons motivate the researchers to introduce scalability feature in video streams so that it will be suitable for various devices which need for different network bandwidths and also have different resolutions. There are three modes in Scalability i.e. spatial, temporal and SNR. Here a study has been carried out on SNR scalability along with an improvised approach of motion estimation which will be helpful for reducing the computational complexity.
