Abstract :
Photonics, the fundamental element behind new-age digital data communication and foremost choice of optical device construction involves optics. In this paper, a 2D photonic crystal has been designed for the analysis of glucose concentration in human body using tears as analyte and the output is implemented on the AdaBoost algorithm which helps to automate the full process. As the refractive index of the diabetic tears sample differs from the normal tears sample, it can be differentiated and detected using optical techniques. The double hexagonal ring resonator design, implemented in the photonic crystal waveguide increases the sensitivityof the sensor. We are working on a real time implementation of Adaptive Boosting in short form known as AdaBoost. AdaBoost algorithm is found to comparatively give outputs of glucose percentage in tear samples and of optical sensors with the inputs given by the user by generating an output on GUI per se. Verification involves calculating accuracy, sensitivity, specificity etc. Using AdaBoost along with photonic crystal based designs, the sensing technology can be improved with changing parameters of design structures´ sensitivity and stability along with performance parameters of the system, thereby successfully implementing Diabetic detectors. The simulation tool that is used in the paper is MEEP and Matlab.
