Abstract :
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) transpire in the last ten years as a revolutionary technology. The WSNs provide diverse opportunities in a wide variety of applications from environmental monitoring, healthcare to agriculture and industry. In several WSN scenarios, battery powered nodes should operate for years, that necessitate the requirement for advanced power management of the radio. Among all the node functions such as sensing, actuation and computations, the wireless communication energy is still a pre-dominant component. Therefore, the energy dedicated to communication of wireless sensor node should be preserved. Different techniques have been proposed targeting low power communication and short interrupt latency. This work aims at designing 433 MHz compatible matching network and low power Wake-Up Receiver (WUR) for wireless sensor node as a future work. WUR are the hardware technologies enabling a promising solution for WSN. This is achieved through Wake-Up Interrupt (WUp-Int) technique. As a part of this work the matching network is modeled and simulated using Advanced Design System (ADS). It operates in 433 MHz ISM band and the sensitivity achieved is -32 dBm while receiving 128Kb/s OOK modulated wake-up signal.
