Abstract :
Multiuser communication creates some practical difficulties at the receiver for signal detection. When the number of users are more compared to the number of receiver elements of base station, many of the existing detection techniques degrades their performance. For ML (maximum likelihood) MUD (Multiuser detection) an exhaustive search is needed which will increase the system complexity and computating process. But it attains a BER of order for lower values of SNR (10dB) hence have an optimum performance when compared with MMSE whose BER is only in the order of for above given SNR. The need for optimum performance with reduced complexity, initiates a search for some optimization techniques. So in this paper here employed an evolutionary algorithm (eg. Genetic algorithm(GA)) which mimics the natural process of evolution for producing the best solution for a problem. GA when assisted with MMSE will posses an optimum performance similar to the ML method.
