Abstract :
The use of computer and internet or web-based applications to assess the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of different participants from different backgrounds and different specialties around the globe is now widespread. In this paper we will evaluate different computer and web-based testing tools for test and item development, implementation, scheduling, delivery, grading and reporting purposes. We will analyze these tools based on importing and exporting capabilities they have, security they provide during the exam, different test delivery options, statistical analysis of results and reporting options they support. Based on these certain criteria and practical experience with the tools we will draw a conclusion that which tool is better for low-stake exams and which tool is better for high-stake exams.
