Abstract
We describe a method to subdivide objects or volumes in order to represent the predictable volumetric diversity of materials contained within. An exemplar providing information on the volumetric diversity is used as a basis for constructing the subdivided volume. The method will utilize a 3D Voronoi Subdivision Tree in order to divide the volume. The tree will contain the subdivided shape information along with the various attributes of the subdivided objects. Once created, the subdivided object/volume can then be placed in a physics environment for dynamic interaction.
