Abstract :
The presented work proposes multimode filters that can be used for compact RF front-ends for emerging wireless technologies. Efficient coupling technique is proposed which is capable to realize different filter responses. These filters are integrated into dielectric substrate and exploit three waveguide modes installed in a single cavity. The couplings among the modes and with the source / load can be adjusted to realize maximum of two real and asymmetric transmission zeros for a single cavity filter. The ability to arbitrarily position one or two transmission zeros make the proposed filters adaptable to different requirements. The presented results show the flexibility of the realized filters to achieve desired responses. The technique can easily be employed for higher order filters.
