Abstract :
A single element ultrawide band (UWB) polarization diversity antenna with dual orthogonal CPW feed is presented. The proposed structure consists of a printed circular radiator which is orthogonally feed with two CPW feed line to achieve polarization diversity characteristic. The proposed antenna utilizes a set of slanted microstrip-lines between the CPW feed lines to maintain high isolation (of more than 20dB) between the input ports. The proposed structure provides an impedance bandwidth of 18 GHz, which covers Bluetooth/Wi-Fi band along with UWB bandwidth. The transmission and diversity characteristics of the proposed antenna are measured and results are reported in terms of group-delay, and Envelop-Correlation coefficient response. A good agreement between simulated and measured results shows that the proposed antenna is good candidate for UWB diversity application.
