  • Abstract
Electrical energy systems are undergoing a radical transformation in structure and functionality in a quest to increase efficiency and reliability. Due to these changes power systems became larger and larger, transmission lines crisscrossed the land forming large interconnected network. It becomes very important and necessary to operate a distribution system at its maximum capacity. For these reasons distribution system has to be modeled accurately so that analysis techniques for steady state and short circuit conditions can be developed [1]. In this work, a contribution for a modeling of a three phased unbalanced radial distribution system components, is given. A decoupled approach has been adopted so that each phase can be studied independently of the others. Some important components of a simple radial feeder has been described such as the line segment, the voltage regulator, and different models of loads have been presented and discussed. And the model has been tested for an IEEE 69 bus radial distribution system.
