Abstract
In this paper, we evaluate the fundamental performance of a spatial metadata join method based on the camera view of a smartphone´s display. We are designing an information sharing system for fieldwork in natural environments, where a spatial region displayed on a camera view of a mobile device is extracted as a polygon data, and a nature observation record is associated with the polygon data as a spatial metadata. By performing spatial join to the spatial metadata of a nature observation record, our system can associate observation records of different places created by different users, so that the users can share nature observation records in their analytical process of the natural environments.
