  • Abstract
This paper deals with the dependence of cavity size on partial discharge inception voltage (PDIV) in epoxy composite filled with micrometer-sized hollow glass particles. Two types of specimen with 40 μm and 100 μm in average size are prepared. The PDIV is measured for the composite specimen with plate-like shape. The effect of X-ray irradiation on PDIV is also examined. The value of PDIV is estimated using an electric field analysis and the Paschen´s curve to compare with the measured one. As a result, it will be confirmed that PDIV increases with decreasing cavity size.
