Abstract :
In this paper, an approach of designing a compact stepped-frequency continuous-wave (SFCW) through-wall radar is presented using simulation software. The radar which is designed to operate at carrier frequency of 2GHz and working bandwidth of 1.5GHz works by transmitting the signal and then processing the reflected signal from the object behind the wall to be analyzed for obtaining the object information. Here, the use of simulation software aims to do modeling in investigating the information contained in reflected signal. From the result, it shows that the SFCW method is suitable for designing a compact through-wall radar which can range an object at the distance of 2 meters form the radar.
