Abstract :
Positioning with wireless network is becoming a highly focused issue for today´s Location Based Services (LBS) with rapid development of wireless communication technology and improvement of localizing requirements for mobile devices. A typical and widely used positioning method is the wireless signal strength based positioning which has multiple advantages such as low cost, sufficient usable resources (e.g., WiFi) and etc. However, it also shows shortcomings because of the diversified geographical conditions caused instability of measured signal strength, which may result inaccurate location calculations in complex geographical environments. In this paper, we propose a different approach for today´s positioning technology; the scheme is based on wireless routing method and targets at positioning in in-building environment. The idea is creating two routing paths which are crossing at the positioning target; after that, the target node can be localized by identifying its neighbor nodes on the routing paths.
