Abstract
Congestion control in vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication for crash avoidance is still an ongoing research issue. In this paper, we show that information sharing, a newly introduced feature for some well-known congestion control algorithms such as ETSI Distributed Congestion Control (DCC), can cause globally synchronized beacon transmissions, lowering the beacon delivery probability due to increased collisions. To solve this problem, we propose to add jitter in transmission instance after each beaconing rate adaptation that ensues information sharing.
