Abstract :
This paper presents an original medium access control (MAC) scheme for energy efficiency in wireless smart sensor networks (WSSN). We have proposed a technique which could show better performance in the aspect of energy efficiency by grouping wireless smart sensor devices and minimizing energy consumption of the smart sensors based on buffer threshold values which are pre-configured based on the distances from the sink node. The proposed technique includes priority control for supporting emergent traffics. Considering today´s advanced information and communication technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), big data, cloud computing and fog computing, the proposed technique could be highly suitable for a variety of smart sensor devices in Internet of Everything (IoE) machine-to-human networking environment.
