Abstract :
In this paper, we develop the base-station platform for in-vehicle wireless sensor network system. The base-station platform is a component of in-vehicle wireless sensor network system which includes wireless sensor nodes platforms, an OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) module, and a user device (e.g., smart-phone, head-unit, and navigation). The in-vehicle wireless sensor network system applies wireless sensor network technologies in order to reduce the wiring harness and provide various convenience/safety-related services. The base-station platform transmits operation commands to wireless sensor node platform and processes ECU (Electronics Control Unit) and sensor information received from wireless sensor node platform. Also, base-station platform sends the processed ECU and sensor information to user device. The base-station platform is applied to wireless parking assistance system to verify usefulness and effectiveness of the in-vehicle wireless sensor network system.
