Abstract :
Multi-crystalline silicon Passivated Emitter and Rear .Cell (mc-PERC) is a promising combination of p-type low cost and nigh efficiency solar cells. Recently, the Light-Induced Degradation (LED) phenomena on mc-PERC cells have been highly discussed. In order to realize the mechanism, the LID behaviors of 3 groups p-type mc-silicon solar cells with different levels BSRV (Low, Medium and High) have been studied. In a case of low BSRV cells, it shows the serious impact of efficiency degradation and IQE responses at long wavelength. The experimental and simulation results show that LED in efficiency is no longer as strongly coupled to BSRV improvement because bulk lifetime dominates cell recombination. Furthermore, an appropriate Light-Induced Regeneration treatment (LIR) has been realized that can effectively minimize the impact of LID in efficiency from -3% to -1.6%.
