Abstract
We can successfully solve the severe problem in DFD (Depth-fused 3D) display that the maximum depth between front and rear planes is limited because depth fusing from front and rear images to one 3D image becomes impossible. We also propose a perception model for this DFD display. When the distance is large, perceived depth is separated to near front plane, near rear plane and mid-point region. This maximum depth range can be successfully enlarged by spatial-frequency modulation of front and rear images. Even at the large distance between front and rear plane, the perceived depth has one fused position, when high frequency component of front and rear images is cut off by spatial-frequency modulation.
