Abstract
Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) is the foundational technology for the Army´s network modernization. Thus, spectrum management of MANETs is critical to efficient and effective MANET acquisition and deployment. The technical basis for the tactical spectrum management process is interference analysis. The results of interference analysis are highly dependent on the choice of interference protection criteria (IPC). In this paper, we present an approach to derive co-channel and adjacent channel IPC that result in efficient spectrum assignments. We derive general criteria for signal-to-interference ratio and then use stochastic geometry to determine the statistical distribution for the interference threshold. Also, we show that the use of Frequency-Dependent Rejection algorithm using appropriate filter characteristics can provide appropriate correction factors for adjacent channel IPC.
