Urba-UML: Information systems´ environment of urbanization based on UML

The information system (IS) is currently the main part of the business strategic dimension. The urbanization of information systems is necessary for a global vision of IS architecture over space and duration for any computerization project. It proposes to define a coherent development plan consistent with the strategy, business, processes and the existing. Many frameworks, methods and tools of Enterprise Architecture (EA) are available on the market, adopting an urbanization process and inspired by cities´ urbanization. Certainly, several methods and tools of urbanization of IS are available but we noticed the lack of a unifying framework and standards relating to this area. The carried study has highlighted the essential differences in urbanization´s practices. These differences have concerned the concepts represented in the levels of abstraction and also the number of processed levels. In this article, we propose to develop a whole new environment that supports the modeling of the main visions of information systems, taking into account specific concepts for urbanization.
