Abstract :
This paper deals with a comparison of different modeling approaches aimed at predicting conducted and radiated electromagnetic emissions from high-speed railway systems. In particular, an approach based on multiconductor transmission line theory, previously developed by the authors, is compared with a simplified model derived in this work. It is shown that simplified modeling can be used at low frequencies to analyse the spatial distribution of the radiated field but it cannot be exploited for prediction of the emission levels.
