Abstract
It´s a difficult work to design large power energy storage asymmetric coupled inductors in interleaving and magnetically integrated bidirectional DC/DC converter. In this paper, the steady current ripple and transient current response speed are analyzed quantitatively in interleaving and magnetically integrated bidirectional DC/DC converter with 3 phase asymmetric coupled inductors under Buck work mode. After 3 phase asymmetric coupled inductors are adopted in an interleaving bidirectional DC/DC converter, its transient current response speed can be increased meanwhile its steady state current ripple can be decreased, but there is asymmetry. A design criterion and a design procedure for designing the asymmetric coupled inductors are proposed to meet the two specifications simultaneously, which are verified with simulation and experiment results. Therefore the challenges for designing the large power energy storage asymmetric coupled inductors in interleaving & magnetically integrated bidirectional DC/DC converter can be overcome.
