Abstract
This paper describes a direct algorithm for generating switching matrix for Cascaded H-bridge multilevel matrix converter (M3C). The proposed scheme uses reference voltage vectors and phase instantaneous values to determine which capacitor should be deployed by real-time calculation instead of referring lookup-tables. By using this scheme, lookup-tables are no longer needed, which means less memory space is required. At the same time, the flexibility of the converter control strategy can be increased due to the real-time calculation. This paper also includes simulation waveforms and data to verify the proposed algorithm.
