Abstract :
A distribution transformer using three-phase to single-phase matrix converter with a power decoupling inductor (TSMCPDI) was proposed to suppress three-phase unbalance. The power decoupling inductor (PDI) is used for compensation of single-phase power pulsation. In the previous study, the compensation method is dependent on the direction of the power flow. Therefore the TSMCPDI didn´t operate smoothly around power factor zero, where the direction of power flow changes. In this paper, a new method to create PDI voltage command is proposed, which achieves continuous operation of the TSMCPDI. The operation of the TSMCPDI was confirmed with MATLAB/Simulink.
