  • Abstract
This paper proposed a new approach to detect and isolate the faults of FET in induction motor inverter based on EKF(Extended Kalman Filter). The main idea of this paper is that by estimating the variations of on resistance, we can detect fault of FET of motor inverter. In this paper, the induction motor inverter is considered. A model of induction machine driver which include the on resistance of inverter FET as state variable is derived. Since the derived model is nonlinear, the EKF is used to estimate the on resistance and other state variables. The Matlab simulation results show that the proposed method can detect and isolate the faults in FETs.
