Abstract
A method for generating chirped signal using dispersive microwave transmission lines is presented. The up-chirp signals and down-chirp signals are produced by dispersive transmission lines of differentially positive and negative group delay, respectively. It appears that a dispersive delay line broadens the modulated input pulse with the reduction in the signal amplitude of output waveform. In particular, a larger differentially group delay results in a more broadened output signal.
