Abstract :
In this work, the effect of monomer structures on the morphology of polymerized aromatic amines was investigated. Several polymerized aromatic amines were prepared by oxidative chemical using different oxidants. Besides, the synthesis of those polymers was attempted using p-phenylenediamine or p-amino-diphenylamine as the initiator. The properties of those polymers were investigated by Raman spectroscopy, while the morphology was examined using scanning electron microscopy. In particular, it was found that, although the polymerization of 2-aminopyridine could be easily started by oxidative chemical polymerization, the formation of nanostructured polymers was dependent on whether the initiator was used.
