Abstract
Based on the principle of broadband filters with stub-loaded resonator (SLR), a principle is proposed to design broadband antennas by loading resonators to radiator. Similar to SLR, when a dipole is loaded with resonators, its high-order resonant modes can be close to the first mode, leading the broadband impedance match. The proposed resonator-loaded dipole (RLR) is applied to design the base-station antennas for 4G mobile communication systems.
