Abstract
In gas insulated circuit breaker (GCB), a performance of the GCB can be reduced by generating a frictional force due to a translation motion of the moving and fixing conduct during a current breaking. Such being the case, predictions of frictional force (F), a normal force (N) and a coefficient (μ) are important for improving an efficiency of the GCB. In this study, test equipment was developed for measuring the frictional force with the normal force (N) of the canted coil spring. Lastly, a finite element analysis (FEM) was also considered to predict the frictional force and compared with the experimental result.
