  • Abstract
This paper deals with the two-dimensional scattering problem of electromagnetic wave from a lossy dielectric cylinder which its material is modeled by the multiple poles Debye model. This scattering problem is numerically treated using the two-dimensional finite-difference time-domain (2D-FDTD) method with pulse excitation source. The total field (including incident and scattered fields) from a circular cylinder examined by the 2D-FDTD simulation is extracted in term of the scattering angle. The validation of this computation is done by the CST microwave studio (MWS). As a result, good agreement is observed and the effectiveness of Debye modeling of absorbing material from previous work is also confirmed.
