Abstract :
This paper aims to establish the characterization of coverage of signals in 700 MHz band in indoor environments. This band was chosen because its allocation to be used by the Long Term Evolution (LTE) broadband communication systems in Brazil. The measurements procedure to characterize the behavior of the signal coverage were carried out by the arithmetic media of nine measured points, calculated in an area of 1 m2, at regularly spaced intervals so as to ensure a smaller influence of the fast fading phenomenon. The simulated results were obtained using the commercial program Winprop®, based on the Ray-Tracing method. Furthermore, simulated results are also obtained using a simplified model, for which virtual transmitters are positioned at the beginning of each non line of sight corridor. A good agreement is observed between measured and simulated results, which instigates the use of the proposed simplified model and measurement procedure. It was shown that is not required an extensive measurement and simulation along all the environment extension in a situation without line of sight to predict the received power.
