Abstract :
Simulations and measurements of the reflections using a UWB monocone antenna in closed environment are shown in this paper. A circular brick wall was constructed to perform the experiments. The monocone antenna was designed and optimized using the Antenna Magus software. This antenna shows a low VSWR from 500 to 4000 MHz. When the frequency of operation is specified and the brick relative constant is knows, the wall thickness can be designed to minimize reflections and improve transmission through the walls.
