  • Abstract
    Based on value of Time-Spatial, this paper analyzes the Time-Spatial characteristics of the transportation: the non-homogeneous value of time, the non-homogeneous and limitation of spatial, the heterogeneity and self-organization of participant, the incompleteness of information. The objective of this study is to evaluate the effects of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) on the basis of value of Time-Spatial and Time-Spatial Convergence (TSC). Comparing with traditional transportation mode, it is obviously that ITS is more efficient. ITS increases the value of Time-Spatial by improving completeness of information. In addition, ITS enhances the ability of converging the Time-Spatial by shortening time distance. Department of transportation can evaluate the efficiency of ITS by measuring indexes of value of Time-Spatial and Time-Spatial Convergence.
