Abstract :
In order to investigate the status and the effect of the implementation of the essential medicine policy, it analyzed the similarities and differences of the supply situation in the central area Hubei province and the developed region Guangdong province of China. According to the generic name, dosage form, specifications, price hanging on the net of the essential medicine commonly used as well as the rate of the distribution and the storage, it compared the data from the bidding platform between the two provinces with the use of the methods of literature analysis and comparative analysis. As a result, it discovered the 10 kinds of essential medicine commonly used in Hubei provincial editions of 2012 and 2015 had the same suppliers and the same bidding price; Guangdong Province had done more in-depth study of the good manufacturing practices (GMP) score, total score and the other factors of the bidding price than that in Hubei province; The prices in Guangdong province were basically lower than that in Hubei province, even for the same specifications provided by the same manufacturer. In conclusion, the availability of the essential medicine was poor in Hubei province. The price of the essential medicine in Guangdong province was more affordable. It was also to find that some medicine commonly used in these two provinces had no affordability, which indicated that the level of the supply security of the essential medicine as a whole should be improved further.
