  • Abstract
This paper presents a novel disposable breath tube with on-tube nanowire sensor array for non-invasively on-site sensing of lung cancer biomarker from exhaled breath. It´s a non-invasive method for detection of lung cancer biomarkers from exhaled breath. Currently, there are varied non-invasive detection methods for lung cancer biomarker, including GC-MS and exhaled breath condensate. However, due to the bulky equipment and complicate handling procedure, it is still difficult to provide a breath sensing tool for on-site rapid screening or diagnostics. This study presents an investigation of gas sensing characteristics of nanowire sensor arrays and its applications to a breath sensing tube. The on-tube gas sensor array includes flow-rate & temperature sensors based on Ag nanowires, and humidity & lung cancer biomarker sensors based on TiO2 nanowires.
