Abstract :
A 1Mb/s, 2.4GHz, Manchester encoded and error adaptive OOK transceiver has been designed in a 65nm CMOS process. The transceiver achieves 10-3 bit error rate at -70dBm receiver input power for a minimum operating distance of 10 m. The receiver uses an uncertain IF architecture for RF to IF conversion and a digital energy detection for backend baseband processing. A digital processor of decoded Manchester data enables dynamic threshold adjustment for signal and noise fluctuations. The transmitter operates through an oscillator with a keyed power amplifier. Simulated power consumption at 1V single supply is about 1.1mW and 3.7mW for the receiver and transmitter respectively under the specified sensitivity.
