Abstract
Effects of pulsed laser ablation (PLA) plasma on sterilization have been studied using thin film deposition system. Yeast fungus and Spore-forming bacteria were used as the subject of sterilization, and Silver (Ag) was used as PLA target in this experiment. Experimental results suggest both of Yeast fungus and Spore-forming bacteria can be sterilization by PLA plasma irradiation. The effect of the sterilization strongly depends on the laser fluence and irradiation time. As the optical emission spectra, it is considered that main sterilization factors are high energy Ag atoms and ions, and shock wave.
