Abstract :
In this study, a portable electrooculogram (EOG) data acquisition sytem were designed and applied for human computer interface (HCI) applications. EOG signals sensed from horizontal and vertical eye movements were detected in the system by 5 Ag-AgCl electrodes. Biopotential signals were applied to the amplifier and filter circuits that were designed. Then EOG analogue data were obtained between the range of 0 and 5 volts. EOG analogue data was processed by a microcontroller unit. Thus, the analogue data was converted to optical, bluetooth and USB digital data formats. HCI researchers who need to develop their applications can receive EOG data from any appropriate channel. Furthermore, an interface was developed to monitorize the data received from digital channels. With this princible, researchers are able to monitorize and record EOG data in real time. Received EOG data records may be used for analysing, classification or signal processing applications in computer programmes such as Matlab, Labview etc.
