Abstract :
Effects of the deformation in the cavity of a flexible cavity-backed slot antenna on its reflection and radiation characteristics have been analyzed and compared with the measured ones. The antenna is a slot antenna backed by a hollow cavity made of a conductive textile and can be bent along a spherical surface. It is designed for the operation frequency around 2.4 GHz. The frequency characteristics, -10dB bandwidth and the center frequency, are analyzed with and without deformation in the cavity. They are compared with a flat cavity case. Cavities with increased thickness and a stretched or shrunk bottom side face are modeled for the simulation of the antenna characteristics.
