Abstract
A ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna with two tunable and reconfigurable notch bands is proposed and well designed. The dual-band notch function is implemented by the use of a stepped impedance resonator and a spiral-shaped stub, while the reconfigurable characteristics is realized by the integrating two switches into the spiral-shaped stub and the stepped impedance resonator to control their resonances. The proposed antenna is optimized and the optimal results show that the antenna can provide a wide bandwidth covering the entire UWB band, tunable and reconfigurable notch band characteristics, which render it suitable for the portable UWB and multi-mode communication applications.
