Abstract
Hybrid analysis of the method of moments (MoM) and the finite element methods (FEM) is adopted for an X-shaped cavity-backed 2×2-slot sub-array. The eigenmodes of a waveguide with the cross section of the X-shaped cavity are numerically derived by two-dimensional FEM to calculate the reactions of the basis functions of the magnetic currents in the slots in the MoM. The hybrid analysis is much faster than HFSS and is used for the wideband design of the sub-array.
